Erosion and Weed Control

Use Erosion Control Blanket to stabilize disturbed soil and to protect freshly sown seed. Native plugs can also be planted through the Erosion Control Blanket. All natural and biodegradable.

Use Weed Suppressant Mat to smother turf lawn or weeds and create a pollinator planting without the need for groundwork. Simply cut holes and transplant native plugs through the mat. Not compatible with seeding. Made of biodegradable wood fiber.

Shipping

Plant orders placed by end of day Sunday, or earlier, will ship Tuesday. Orders placed Monday, or later, will ship the following week Tuesday. Please include any special shipping date requests with your order.

**Fall 2025 Shipping Information Update: Our 2024 live plant shipping season has concluded. Plants ordered after October 6, 2024 will be will be placed in our off-season backlog and shipped spring of 2025. Shipping usually resumes early to mid-May, weather permitting. MNL will notify you before plants are shipped. Seed and non-plant orders will continue to ship throughout the winter.

Seed and non-plant orders are processed year-round and will typically ship within 5-7 business days.

We currently ship to the following areas where our local-origin, Minnesota native seed and plant products will thrive: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois and Eastern Nebraska.

MNL’s Statement on Neonicotinoids

We are committed to providing the highest quality restoration materials possible. We value the role our plants and seed have in the environment. To that end, we choose not to use Neonics and only use other chemicals only when necessary and/or as indicated by an integrated pest management program. This may result in plant leaves with minor feeding damage and/or the occasional monarch caterpillar found still chomping on your milkweed. Rest assured that these plants will be fine; the birds and butterflies will benefit.
