Woolgrass

Scirpus cyperinus. The common name Woolgrass, comes from the fluffy characteristics of the seedhead in the fall months. This species is commonly found in ditches, marshes, wet meadows and swamps. It is great for buffers, shoreline restoration, raingardens and waterfowl habitat. It grows in wet to wet mesic soils with a height between 36-72 inches, needing full to partial sun.
