Description
Hairy Wood Mint
Blephilia hirsuta. A very unique perennial herb native to the woodlands of the Great Lakes Region. Hairy Wood Mint has square stems and fuzzy, aromatic leaves. In late spring to summer, it produces clusters of white flowers arranged in tiers, resembling small pagodas. Yellow and Red leaves in the fall when transitioning to dormancy keep eye appeal late into the year. Will thrive in partial shade and moist, well-drained soils. It’s a great choice for gardeners looking to attract bees and butterflies to their shade gardens. Grows 1-3′ in height.
