It\’s that time of year again! The great Minnesota get-together kicks off tomorrow, August 24th. With comfortable temps in the forecast, why not plan to get out to the fair this year??
Minnesota Native Landscapes will have native plant displays in two areas of the fair this year.
The first, is our permanent native planting outside the Minnesota Bound cabin at 1500 Cooper St. This planting has been around for many years, and while it takes a bit of trampling from fair-goers excited to see Raven on the cabin\’s deck, it continues to look great year after year with just a few new plants added before the fair begins. MNL was featured in last weekend\’s episode of Minnesota Bound, gearing up for the fair: Watch here
Visit the Blue Thumb display under the windmill blade outside the Eco Experience building to see more of MNL\’s plants, along with other MN native plant vendors and Blue Thumb partners. Here, volunteers will be on site explaining the benefits of native plantings, including converting traditional turf lawn to low maintenance fescue options, like MNL\’s Bee Lawn. We made sure to showcase many of our mature Meadow Blazing Star plants, and already saw a monarch checking them out before we were done setting up!
